February https://photos.app.goo.gl/mBm2bt3idpnwzbCV6 Cleanup https://photos.app.goo.gl/rSBTLjQwMERSeRaq9 TRINOW OWS We had a LCRA training class taught by Ms Grace and supported by Dan in early February along with a cleanup at WRL for February too and finally the polar bears for TRINOW did their open water swim too, 52 degrees… tough group! March https://photos.app.goo.gl/CAb7ZwDGYeCNcmzc8 SM CLEANUP https://photos.app.goo.gl/pKeYGspkAXhPJwUJ7 WRL CLEANUP We hit the river in San Marcos for a clean up …the 55th annual no doubt and did the Luling to Zedler Mill run with our friends from the Houston club and had a blast paddling with them! Then of course do our very own WRL clean up the next weekend. MARCH two fer… April May June July April showers will fill up our lakes we hope, starting with a BSA event on the 4th, 2nd Sat cleanup on the 11th, L1 cert class ( a couple of spots still open) at Fort Sill in OK the weekend of the 17th and a fun Tri support for DAR on the 26th at Lake Ray Roberts, so yes we do get around! Volunteers needed and don’t forget about the free kayak offer too, 10 supports get you your own hull! May is one of our favorite months as we team up with HATS for the sons and the daughters at Camp Classen in OK on the weekends of the 2nd the 16th and the 30th O what fun we have planned! We will also be at WRL for our cleanup on the 9th too! June we are supporting a check point for the worlds hardest canoe race the Texas Water Safari and volunteers are needed! That we weekend of 12th 13th and 14th in Luling on the SMR and… we will support a dry cleanup at WRL too on the 13th so we can keep our streak alive since 2000! Later that month we head out to the Nantahala River on the 27th for some serious ww fun, we have 1 slot let if your interested$$$ July wraps up our Nantahala River trip and we travel back to Big D…..   • 2nd 2nd Sat at WRL of 25Uncategorized2nd 2nd Sat at WRL of 251st and foremost we Thank all our volunteers young and experienced on or off the water and always with a smile! you just have to start them young, Thanks Mom too! The weather was so much better than last month, that’s the thing about Texas, is we get several of these lovely Indian summer days even in winter! That said the water was still a little brisk! Thanks to W & C for the on land cleanup management too! We also got our friends from TRINOW out with their group of athletes …… mostly getting trashed! Thanks to George we also got the very underserved parking looking good. KPC serving up kayaks and fun, you can see why we have had 20 plus years of success!!! Just a friendly reminder we love the ground support and We love the water support too! its all about making the lake a better place for all lake users, and I’m guessing ALL LAKE USERS LIKE HAVING THIS PILE OF TRASH NOT IN THE LAKE!!!!   • 2025 Clean up w/ICEUncategorized2025 Clean up w/ICENO not Immigration And Customs Enforcement… Actual frozen water!!! We did had some ice on part of the lake, sadly though it didn’t last long enough for us to go play with before Mr. Sun had his way. So it was a cold start to the S4 in 2025 with overnight temps in the 20’s, YIKES We set up our party tent and started the heater before getting our trash on… We had the usual suspects the cold water cold wind and lots of trash too And as a special treat those volunteers got a little something warm and sweet from starbucks too! GO Steve! While we await our numbers from the mother group For the Love of the Lake we do feel good about the 2024 numbers and the volume too. Don’t worry these things will not spoil this….. Thankfully!!! Or this We can still enjoy clean clear water and natures beauty along with some fun in a kayak too Thanks to our friends at LLELA and the LPRD for their vision and stewardship in preserving these fine things. As we approach fall and winter in Texas we will continue to get out on the water do our December Clean Up (12-14) on Whiterock Lake and our final 2024 LLELA trip (12-21) in December as well.
